Exploring the Didaktik des Sachunterrichts and the school subject Sachunterricht with a natural science profile, this Master of Education programme prepares students to teach science at a primary school level in Germany. At the heart of the programme is the building block Einführung in die Didaktik des Sachunterrichts, which introduces students to the key concepts of the discipline. The modules Einführung in die wissenschaftliche Disziplin der Chemie für Sachunterrichtsstudierende and Einführung in die wissenschaftliche Disziplin der Biologie für Sachunterrichtsstudierende provide a solid foundation in the natural sciences.

Students will gain the knowledge and skills to teach science effectively in primary schools and develop their own approaches to teaching, making use of the university's extensive experience with the Fachdidaktik, including the Theorie-Praxis-Modul III: Fachdidaktisches Praktikum.

In the final semester, students are encouraged to undertake a Praxisprojekt, an independent project in the field of Sachunterricht.
