Sosyoloji

Tuition fees are 8,500 USD per year.

Sociology studies how societies are organized, how social institutions function, and how factors like class, culture, and inequality shape human behavior and group life. Core coursework generally includes classical and contemporary sociological theory, research methods and statistics, social stratification, urban sociology, family and gender studies, and the sociology of work, alongside electives on migration, media, or globalization. Students learn to design surveys, conduct interviews and fieldwork, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to test social hypotheses. Many programs include a capstone research project or thesis that applies sociological methods to a real-world social issue. Graduates find work in public policy, social research, nonprofit and community organizations, human resources, journalism, and further graduate study in sociology or related social sciences. This program is a 4 year bachelor's degree at Bahçeşehir University in İstanbul, Turkey, delivered fully in English, giving students direct engagement with the English-language scholarship that dominates the discipline internationally. İstanbul's size and diversity, spanning multiple ethnic communities, migration patterns, and rapid urban change, provides an active setting for studying social structures firsthand. Students benefit from proximity to government agencies, media organizations, and civil society groups based in the city, which can support internships and applied research. Across the four years, students move from introductory theory toward more specialized study of particular social institutions and issues, developing both the conceptual and methodological tools needed for sociological analysis.
