At the University of Siegen, the teaching degree in elementary and special needs education is a four-semester master’s program, which always begins with a six-semester bachelor’s degree that integrates subject-specific studies, such as Sachunterricht (elementary science and social studies), with subject didactics and educational sciences. This approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared for the multifaceted responsibilities of teaching, both in general and special education roles, while also providing the flexibility to pursue further specializations through an additional two-semester post-master's program.
