About Master in Architecture and urban planning

At Bialystok University of Technology, tuition comes to 3,100 EUR.

Architecture and Urban Planning is a master's degree program at Bialystok University of Technology, based in Białystok, Poland, running three semesters and taught in English. The programme covers comprehensive interdisciplinary knowledge in the history and theory of urban planning, architecture and fine arts, sociology, civil engineering, building construction, the physics of buildings, and urban infrastructure. On completing the course, graduates are expected to have gained interdisciplinary knowledge spanning technical sciences and the humanities, while also developing creative skills in space planning. Graduates are described as being well prepared to design architectural structures for diverse functions and to produce urban design and space planning projects. The programme also offers the possibility of joining a double-degree arrangement with the University of Beira Interior through a student exchange lasting two semesters. Urban planning as a discipline studies how cities and regions are organized, covering land use, infrastructure, housing, and public space, and typically draws on architecture, engineering, geography, and law. A master's programme of this kind builds on an undergraduate technical or design background to develop skills in both architectural design and larger-scale spatial planning, preparing graduates for roles in architecture and planning offices, public administration, and infrastructure and construction-related organizations. Applicants need a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 210 ECTS credits and an English language certificate at international B2 level, upper intermediate, such as FCE, IELTS with a minimum of 6 points, IBT with a minimum of 87 points, or TOEFL with a minimum of 510 points, where applicable. Each application is assessed individually on its merits, and candidates with questions can contact the IRO Officer at studyinbut@pb.edu.pl.
