Master in Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Sciences

Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Sciences (AIMS) is a four-semester, research-oriented Master's programme taught entirely in English at TU Braunschweig. Students can choose from three specialisations: Chemical Synthesis and Drug Design, Spectroscopy and Imaging, or Data-Driven Biology. Across all tracks, the programme emphasises the development and application of AI models to accelerate physical simulations and analyse large, high-dimensional datasets on molecular structure and dynamics. The programme begins each winter semester and is aimed at molecular scientists who want to build strength in data science, and its international orientation places students in a multicultural environment. The curriculum provides foundational knowledge in applied mathematics and computer science alongside discipline-specific courses in the chosen specialisation. Students can complement their specialisation with other relevant subject areas. The modular structure facilitates combined study with the Faculty of Life Sciences at TU Braunschweig and research facilities in the Braunschweig research region, as well as with foreign partner universities. The programme culminates in an independent research project presented as a Master's thesis written in English. Students interested in international study can also pursue a semester abroad through established exchange contacts, including Erasmus partners in France, the United Kingdom, and Sweden, with support from the university's Mobility Office for establishing new contacts.
