Degree Overview

Media Studies students gain practical experience through hands-on instruction in creative media practice and critically analyse a range of media forms in society, culture, and politics. The programme combines creative and practical storytelling with the development of a critical understanding of media—an essential skill as media industries continuously evolve with the emergence of new platforms and issues like AI or fake news. Students will research and analyse media cultures, genres, and industries, along with exploring the role of media in society and politics.

This programme encourages critical and creative thinking in media design and production. Students can broaden their educational experience by pairing Media Studies with Arts subjects, such as languages, business, social sciences, or computer science. Additionally, Media Studies can be combined with Computer Science, offering a broad expertise in Media Technologies.

Graduates emerge with a range of practical, critical, and transferable skills enhancing their employability in diverse fields including film, television, radio production, and digital marketing.
