The Master's programme in Biomedical Engineering at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) is a three-semester, in-person programme covering a defined set of modules: Mathematics, Data Acquisition, Advanced Biosignal Processing, Medical Image Processing, Application of Imaging Modalities, Advanced Control Systems, Modelling Medical Systems, Medical Real Time Systems, Simulation and Virtual Reality in Medicine, Biomedical Project, HTA/Regulatory Affairs, and a Master's thesis. The programme is designed for entry in both winter and summer. Modules 1, 2, and 7 run in both semesters; the remaining taught modules rotate on a yearly basis between summer and winter. The third semester is reserved for the Master's thesis. Applicants whose Bachelor's degree consists of 180 ECTS must acquire an additional 30 credits in the first semester before continuing; those with a degree of at least 210 ECTS proceed directly into the taught programme.
