Master in Biomedical Engineering

The Master's programme in Biomedical Engineering at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen is a three-semester programme accredited by Aquas eV. It trains students in the research and development of methods and systems for early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases. The curriculum covers medical device design, medical sensors and signal acquisition, electronics, biomaterials, biomechanics, medical robotics, and artificial intelligence. Practical skills in experimental planning, statistical data analysis, and interpretation are developed through numerous laboratory courses, including work on active research projects. The programme can be completed in English or in German. The first part focuses on deepening expertise through mandatory core subjects and a range of elective modules. The second part centres on project-based practical courses in modern laboratories, and the programme concludes with a six-month Master's thesis, which may be completed at the university or at a company.
