The Master of Arts in Design and Interaction at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences focuses on technologically supported forms of interaction and future communication scenarios. As interfaces have become central to everyday life — enabling communication between people, objects, and environments — the programme prepares students to work on the design of user interfaces and interactive systems with both conceptual depth and technical grounding. The programme runs over 3 semesters. It opens with intensive workshops to establish a shared foundation, after which students undertake self-directed projects in each of the first two semesters. Alongside these projects, taught modules cover Advanced Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Culture and Ethics, Creative Computing, Workshop, and Thesis Development; students also choose two elective courses from other academic fields. The third semester is devoted to the master's thesis, which typically combines a practical design and technology component with a written element. The programme starts in either the winter or summer semester and carries no tuition fees. The degree is offered at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany.
