The Master's in Integrated Design (MID) at OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts prepares architects and engineers for interdisciplinary and digitally supported professional roles, with emphasis on digital analysis, design, planning, and production methods alongside traditional architectural approaches. The programme covers information technology, new building materials, scientific work in architectural education, and cooperation with external partners including planning offices, universities, the construction industry, and software manufacturers. Two English-taught specialisations are available. Façade Design covers the legal, physical, material-technology, structural, and aesthetic dimensions of façade planning and consulting. Computational Design focuses on digital design methods and construction technologies in architecture, engineering, and design. Both specialisations include a design studio each semester and progressively move from foundational tools and methods in the first semester through an open research and practice project in the third semester, concluding with a Master's thesis in the fourth semester. The standard programme duration is four semesters, beginning in the winter semester. The programme is offered at OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Detmold.
