İngilizce Mütercim ve Tercümanlık

Tuition costs 48,000 TRY per year.

This program trains students in the theory and practice of translating and interpreting between English and other languages, covering written translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, and the linguistic analysis that underpins accurate cross-language communication. Students study translation theory, terminology management, and the specific demands of translating texts across fields such as legal, technical, literary, and media content, alongside interpreting practice in simulated conference and dialogue settings. The curriculum builds strong command of English and typically the student's native language, along with cultural competence needed to convey meaning accurately across linguistic and cultural boundaries. Practical exercises, often supported by language labs and translation software, give students hands-on experience with real-world translation and interpreting tasks. Graduates pursue careers as translators, interpreters, localization specialists, and language consultants, working in publishing, media, international organizations, government agencies, and business, or continue into graduate study in translation studies or linguistics. This bachelor program runs for 4 years and is taught in English at Ondokuz Mayıs University, a state institution located in Samsun, Turkey, equipping students with the precise language skills the field demands.
