International Relations studies how states, international organizations, and other global actors interact, covering diplomacy, foreign policy, international law, and global political economy. Students examine historical and contemporary conflicts, cooperation, and negotiation, developing frameworks for understanding issues such as security, trade, and human rights across borders. Coursework typically combines political theory with regional and thematic studies, research methods, and skills in analysis and argumentation. Graduates pursue careers in diplomacy, international organizations, government, non-governmental organizations, journalism, and the private sector, and the field also serves as preparation for graduate study in international affairs, law, or public policy. This bachelor's program is taught in English over 4 years at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in Rize, Turkey. English-medium instruction gives students direct access to the international literature on diplomacy and global affairs and supports careers or further study in international settings. Studying in Rize offers a distinctive vantage point on Turkey's regional position along the Black Sea while students learn frameworks that apply globally. Over the four years, students typically build a foundation in political theory and history before specializing through electives in areas such as security studies or international law, often concluding with a research project. The program suits students interested in global affairs and cross-border cooperation and conflict.
