MA Classical Acting for the Professional Theatre is a one-year, intensive postgraduate course delivered through classwork, scene study and workshop performances, awarded as a Master's degree by LAMDA. Students work on plays from the Shakespearean, Jacobean, Spanish Golden Age, French classical and Restoration periods, building an understanding of how classical theatre translates across centuries, cultures and languages.

Skills classes throughout the year cover acting (voice, textual analysis and artist development), movement, music and singing. Students also create a self-directed practical thesis presentation exploring the relationship between classical training and contemporary theatre practice. The year culminates in a Shakespeare production staged in LAMDA's largest space, the Sainsbury Theatre, to which agents and casting directors are invited.
