How do we define the boundaries of performance in an increasingly mediated and globalized world? The MA in Theatre and Performance offers a rigorous space for practitioners and scholars to interrogate the intersections of stage, screen, and live art. This programme is designed for those who wish to push the limits of traditional theatre, fostering an environment where creative experimentation meets critical inquiry.

Distinctive Creative Practice

Students engage with a diverse array of methodologies, ranging from contemporary performance theory to immersive and site-specific practice. You will be encouraged to develop your own unique creative voice, supported by a faculty that prioritizes both technical excellence and theoretical depth. The programme is particularly noted for:

• A focus on interdisciplinary approaches, bridging the gap between historical performance tropes and digital-age innovation.
• Extensive opportunities for practical workshops that challenge conventional notions of the 'theatre space'.
• A supportive, research-led culture that prepares graduates for doctoral study or professional careers in arts leadership, directing, and dramaturgy.

By situating your work within the broader cultural and sociopolitical contexts of 21st-century performance, you will not only refine your craft but also contribute to the ongoing evolution of the performing arts landscape.
