The English-taught Medicine programme at Iuliu Hațieganu University runs over six years and 360 ECTS credits, leading to an integrated MD-equivalent qualification recognised across the EU. Students are admitted on the strength of their academic file rather than an entrance exam, and study alongside Romanian and French-track peers through a shared pre-clinical curriculum before moving into clinical rotations across Cluj-Napoca's teaching hospitals. The university also offers this programme at a smaller satellite campus in Novara, Italy, for students who prefer to study nearer Western Europe while remaining enrolled under the Romanian curriculum. Around 200 places are available in Cluj-Napoca and 100 in Novara each year. Graduates leave with a degree recognised throughout the European Union and can pursue residency training or further licensing exams in Romania or abroad.
