MFA Classical Acting: Performance & Practice is an 18-month postgraduate course delivered in two parts, awarded as a Master of Fine Art degree by LAMDA. The first 12 months mirror the MA Classical Acting course — classwork, scene study and workshop performances on Shakespearean, Jacobean, Spanish Golden Age, French classical and Restoration texts, culminating in a Shakespeare production in the Sainsbury Theatre — plus a self-created practical thesis presentation.

The second part is a 6-month extension bringing students into the landscape of drama pedagogy and adaptation: exploring teaching approaches for actor training through tutor-led seminars, workshops and self-directed study, and creating a portfolio adaptation of a classical text. Students also complete the LAMDA Syllabus in Practice course, a CPD-accredited qualification in the LAMDA Exams syllabi. The course can be taken in person at LAMDA's West London campus or online.
