Bachelor in Speech Language Therapy Bsc

Tuition fees are 16,000 GBP per year.

Engaging in the vital work of supporting individuals from neonatal care to end-of-life, this programme prepares you for a career as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT). You will develop the expertise to assess and provide interventions for a wide spectrum of communication impairments, as well as complex difficulties with eating, drinking, and swallowing.

The curriculum integrates core disciplines such as psychology, linguistics, and speech pathology, grounded in the reality of clinical practice. Learning is enhanced by guest lectures from specialist clinicians and medics, ensuring that your theoretical knowledge remains current and aligned with modern healthcare trends. A key feature of the experience is the mixed placement model, which combines ongoing weekly clinical exposure with intensive block placements throughout all three years of study, providing consistent opportunities to work with both children and adults across the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

Professional Integration

Beyond the classroom, you are encouraged to actively shape your professional identity through involvement in the speech and language therapy society, domestic and international volunteering, and advocacy projects that raise awareness for communication-related challenges. The course is designed to transition you from a student into a qualified practitioner, with embedded career development support and live brief learning challenges that reflect the collaborative nature of the healthcare sector.
