Towards Independence and Work

This program is designed for students who are new to Supported Studies and want to develop essential skills for adulthood. It focuses on preparing students for independent living and work experience opportunities. The full-time course runs four to five days a week, providing a supportive environment where students can grow in confidence and capability.

Students will engage in various subjects, including English, Maths, health and wellbeing, and employment skills. The curriculum emphasizes active learning through projects that enhance both independent and teamwork skills. Additionally, students will receive support during breaks to foster friendships and social skills, which are crucial for their development.

Graduates of this program can pursue various roles, such as support workers, community assistants, or entry-level positions in retail and hospitality. The skills gained are transferable across many industries, allowing students to adapt to different job markets.
