The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest is an undivided, single-cycle degree lasting five and a half years across 11 semesters, structured as a combined BSc+MSc curriculum that begins straight after high school and leads directly to a DVM Master's-level qualification. The programme is accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and enrols around 120 English programme students each year. Teaching runs over more than 5,000 hours combining pre-clinical sciences with extensive clinical training in the university's own veterinary hospitals and ambulatory clinics, preparing graduates for small and large animal practice, exotic and wildlife veterinary work, public health and research careers.
