Work-based Animal Care

The Work-based Animal Care program at Berkshire College of Agriculture is a 2-year non-degree course for students who love animals. It's taught in English and provides hands-on experience with small mammals and farm livestock.

The curriculum covers animal husbandry and care, with a focus on practical skills. Students will attend theory and practical sessions, and complete weekly industry placements to gain valuable experience.

Graduates can work as animal technicians, animal welfare officers, or in pet stores and kennels. They can also pursue careers in animal shelters, wildlife conservation, or veterinary clinics. Possible job titles include animal care assistant, pet store manager, and animal welfare inspector.
