The Architecture programme at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Saint-Etienne (42) in Saint-Étienne, France, constitutes the first cycle of professional architectural education in France and leads to a bachelor's degree over three years. Architecture schools in France follow a national curriculum organised around studio-based design projects, where students develop spatial thinking, drawing, and modelling skills alongside an understanding of construction. Supporting courses cover structural principles, building materials and techniques, architectural history and theory from antiquity to the contemporary period, and urban planning. Students are trained to move between conceptual design and technical realisation, and to situate their work within social, cultural, and environmental contexts. The Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Saint-Etienne is one of the national architecture schools accredited by the French Ministry of Culture.
