Architecture is a master's degree program at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, delivered in Wrocław, Poland, over three semesters and taught in English, with yearly tuition of 4000 EUR. The programme, offered under the field of study Architecture, concludes with a degree examination consisting of an oral examination and a presentation of the diploma project. Students who successfully prepare for this examination and complete a Master's thesis that includes a diploma project are awarded 20 ECTS credits. The oral examination covers four basic areas of the curriculum: theory of architecture, theory of urban planning, technology, and the history of architecture and urban planning. The degree project itself consists of a conceptual architectural design that includes elements of construction design, or alternatively an urban planning design. After completing the master's programme in Architecture and Urban Planning, students are awarded the Master's Degree in Architecture and are said to be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to enrol in doctoral and specialised postgraduate programmes. First-semester coursework includes elective subjects such as Architectural Design, Urban Design, Conservation and Special Design, and Protection of Cultural Heritage, alongside Theory and History of Architecture, Theory and History of Urban Planning, Structures in Contemporary Architecture, Computer Aided Design BIM, foreign languages, and an introduction to mathematical modelling. Architecture as a discipline combines design, engineering, and planning knowledge to shape buildings and urban spaces. Applicants need a degree as Architect Engineer, a portfolio, and a minimum of 210 ECTS credits, with each application assessed individually and questions directed to the Admission Officer at admission@pwr.edu.pl. English proficiency equivalent to a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 87 points or an IELTS score of 6.5 points is required, with accepted certificates listed online, and application deadlines and fees differ for non-EU/EFTA and EU/EFTA students, as detailed on the university's admission websites.
