About the Program

Automotive Software Engineering is a three-semester, English-taught master's programme at Deggendorf Institute of Technology designed for students with a background in computer science, electrical and information technology, or a related field. The programme responds to growing demand in autonomous driving and connected vehicle systems, covering software development for autonomous driving, image understanding, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, in-car communication, and Car2X communication. Students work in research-oriented settings using the technology campuses and laboratories of Deggendorf Institute of Technology. The programme runs over three semesters starting in the summer semester. First-semester modules include image recognition, digital car and innovation management, advanced driver assistance systems, and mobile applications and interaction design in vehicles. The second semester covers artificial intelligence, automotive software development, wireless and Car2X communication, and automotive microcontrollers. The third and final semester addresses in-car communication architecture and is completed with the Master's thesis and colloquium. Integrated German language courses are included in the programme. Graduates are equipped to work in automotive software development and related fields, with the programme's laboratory infrastructure and industry orientation providing applied experience alongside coursework.
