The Master's programme in Software Engineering for Embedded Systems at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau is a distance learning programme aimed at professionals already working in software development who want to deepen their theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering. The programme addresses the growing use of software in embedded systems, particularly in the automotive sector, and covers areas such as project management, software quality assurance, software product line engineering, requirements engineering, software architecture for embedded systems, component-based and model-based development, real-time systems, and dependability engineering. Machine learning is available as a compulsory elective module. The four-semester programme starts in the winter semester. Teaching and learning materials are designed specifically for distance learning and supplemented by an online campus. Mandatory on-campus phases take place at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, with a three-day session in the first semester and one-week sessions in the second and third semesters. The programme is offered in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IESE and is based at RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
