About the Program

High Integrity Systems (HIS) is a four-semester Master's programme in computer science focused on safety-critical and high-assurance systems. The curriculum covers safety-critical computer systems, advanced formal modelling and specification, IT security, data analysis and mining, distributed systems, real-time systems, machine learning, pattern-oriented software architecture, quantum information science, human-machine interface design, smart sensor networks, system theory, transaction management, and internet of things applications, among other topics. Students choose from a set of elective modules throughout the programme. The first three semesters consist of 18 weeks of lectures, seminars, and laboratory work. The fourth semester is devoted entirely to the Master's thesis, which constitutes applied research work. Both winter and summer semester entry points are available, with application deadlines in October and April respectively. The programme is based at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
