Istanbul University

Bachelor in Computer Engineering

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Computer Engineering combines the study of computer hardware and software, covering the design of computing systems from digital circuits and processor architecture through to the software that runs on them. Students study programming, data structures and algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, digital logic design, and computer networks, building both the theoretical and practical skills needed to design and build computing systems. Laboratory work is a significant part of the curriculum, giving students hands-on experience with circuit design, embedded systems, and software development, often working on team-based projects that combine hardware and software components. Mathematics and physics form part of the foundation, supporting the more advanced engineering coursework in later years. Elective courses commonly allow students to focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, embedded systems, or software engineering, tailoring the degree to their interests. Graduates of computer engineering programs pursue careers as software developers, hardware and embedded systems engineers, network engineers, and systems architects, working across technology companies, telecommunications, manufacturing, and many other industries that rely on computing systems. This program is delivered in English at Istanbul University, located in İstanbul, Turkey, and runs for 4 years. The program is supported by the engineering facilities of a large university situated in a major technology and business center.
