International Relations examines the interactions between states, international organizations, and non-state actors, focusing on diplomacy, foreign policy, security, and global governance. Coursework typically includes international law, political theory, diplomatic history, comparative politics, and international political economy, giving students a broad understanding of how the international system functions. Students learn to analyze foreign policy decisions, interpret international agreements, and evaluate the causes and consequences of conflict and cooperation between states. Graduates pursue careers in diplomacy, international organizations, government agencies, journalism, non-governmental organizations, and further academic study in political science or international affairs. This bachelor program runs for 4 years at Çağ University in Mersin, Turkey, and is taught in English, allowing students to engage with international scholarship and diplomatic communication in a widely used academic language. Mersin's position as a Mediterranean port city situates students within a region shaped by regional trade and geopolitics, relevant context for the study of international affairs. The program combines theoretical study of international relations with analysis of current global events. Students typically move from foundational courses in political theory and history to specialized study of regional politics, security studies, and international organizations, building skills applicable to diplomatic, governmental, and international careers.
