International Relations examines how states, organizations, and other actors interact across political, economic, and security domains. Typical coursework includes international politics, foreign policy analysis, international law, international organizations, global political economy, and diplomatic history, often complemented by courses in comparative politics, security studies, and regional studies. Students develop skills in political analysis, research, and argumentation, frequently through case studies of international conflicts, negotiations, and cooperation. The discipline prepares graduates for careers in diplomacy, government agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, journalism, and international business, and many continue into graduate study in international relations, political science, or public policy. The field suits students interested in global affairs, politics, and how countries and institutions engage with one another. This bachelor's program in International Relations is offered at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Çanakkale, Turkey, and is taught in English over a four-year course of study. Studying the discipline in English supports engagement with international diplomatic and policy literature, which is largely produced and circulated in English across global institutions. Over the four years, coursework typically progresses from foundational political science and history courses toward more specialized topics in international law, security, or regional politics, often including research-based projects in later years. Çanakkale, situated near the Dardanelles in northwestern Turkey, provides a university setting for social science study, and the English-medium format is intended to prepare graduates for further study or professional work involving international affairs and cross-border communication.
