Uluslararası İlişkiler

International Relations studies the political, economic, and social interactions between states, international organizations, and other global actors. The discipline typically covers international politics, diplomacy, international law, foreign policy analysis, global economics, and security studies, along with grounding in political theory and world history. Students examine how states cooperate and compete, how international institutions such as the United Nations function, and how issues like trade, conflict, human rights, and the environment cross national borders. Coursework often includes case studies of specific regions or conflicts, as well as methods courses that introduce research and analytical techniques used in political science. Graduates of this discipline pursue careers in diplomacy, government and public policy, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, journalism, and the private sector, particularly in roles involving international business, risk analysis, or global affairs. The degree also provides a foundation for further graduate study in political science, law, or public policy. This bachelor's program in International Relations is offered at Izmir Katip Çelebi University in İzmir, Turkey, and runs over 4 years of full-time study. Instruction is delivered in English, which is well suited to a discipline that deals directly with international affairs, diplomacy, and global institutions where English is widely used as a working language. İzmir's position as a major port city on Turkey's Aegean coast, with historical ties to trade and international exchange, offers a relevant backdrop for a program focused on global political and economic relations.
