MA Acting - Contemporary is a one-year, full-time, advanced-level conservatoire acting programme designed primarily for students with prior training or performance experience, focusing on contemporary writing and the creation of new theatre. Training draws on Stanislavsky and his inheritors, Lecoq, Gaulier, Berry, Linklater, Viewpoints and Suzuki, working within a diverse ensemble company of around 14-16 students and usually culminating in a piece of new writing commissioned specially for the course.

• Thematic structure: storytelling/embodiment/ensemble, textual analysis, transformation into character, playwright-actor collaboration
• Sustained Independent Project: a solo performance with 4,000-word critical reflection, or a 12,000-word dissertation
