Master in MA Actor Training and Coaching

MA Actor Training and Coaching is a one-year, full-time postgraduate degree (part-time over two years also offered) that does not train actors but develops a practical understanding of what it is to act, preparing graduates to work as actor trainers, coaches, theatre practitioners and directors of actors. Students engage with methodologies from Stanislavski, Chekhov, Meyerhold, Bogart, Lecoq, Grotowski and Meisner, alongside acting-for-screen approaches.

• Develops research, planning, delivery, facilitation and pedagogy skills for coaching and teaching actors
• Placement in Year 1 (eight hours to three months) at partner institutions including RADA, Guildford School of Acting, Mountview and Rose Bruford College
• Assessment is through written work, presentation and teaching practice, culminating in a dissertation or portfolio
