Master in MFA Actor Training and Coaching

MFA Actor Training and Coaching is a two-year, full-time postgraduate degree (240 credits) that does not train actors but develops a practical understanding of what it is to act, preparing graduates to work as actor trainers, coaches, theatre practitioners and directors of actors. Year 1 is shared with the MA cohort; the MFA's second year widens practice within a professional context through workplace attachments. An MFA top-up year is available for holders of an existing MA in this subject.

• Year 1 develops methodologies from Stanislavski, Chekhov, Meyerhold, Bogart, Lecoq, Grotowski and Meisner plus screen-acting approaches
• Year 2 requires one or two workplace attachments plus ongoing tutorials and seminars
• Final assessment is an extended dissertation or portfolio including case studies and reflective documentation
