Bachelor in Computer Engineering

The tuition fee is 2,400 USD per year.

Computer Engineering combines principles of computer science and electronics to study the design, development, and operation of computer hardware and software systems. Typical coursework includes programming, data structures and algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, digital logic design, networks, and software engineering, alongside electives in areas such as artificial intelligence, embedded systems, or database systems. The discipline trains students to build and analyze both the physical components of computing systems and the software that runs on them, bridging theoretical computer science with practical engineering design. Laboratory work and project-based courses are common, giving students experience with circuit design, microprocessors, and large-scale software development. Career paths for graduates include software engineer, hardware engineer, systems analyst, network engineer, and roles in fields such as telecommunications, embedded systems, and information technology, with many graduates also pursuing further study in computer science or engineering. This bachelor's program is offered at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, a state university recognized for its engineering programs, and is taught in English over a 4-year period. English-medium instruction supports engagement with international technical resources and career opportunities beyond Turkey. Ankara, as the capital city, offers a substantial academic and technology-oriented environment for students in this field. Across the 4-year program, students typically begin with foundational mathematics, physics, and introductory programming courses before advancing to core computer engineering subjects, culminating in a senior design project that applies accumulated knowledge to a substantial engineering problem.
