Istanbul Kültür University

Bachelor in Computer Engineering

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Computer engineering combines electrical engineering and computer science to cover both the hardware and software sides of computing systems. Students study digital logic, computer architecture, embedded systems, operating systems and programming, building an understanding of how computing devices are designed from the circuit level up through the software that runs on them. Laboratory work often includes building and programming embedded devices alongside more conventional software projects. This dual grounding distinguishes computer engineering from pure software or electrical tracks, and it prepares graduates for roles in hardware design, embedded systems, network engineering and systems-level software development, in addition to general software engineering positions. Industries hiring computer engineering graduates include telecommunications, consumer electronics, automotive systems and semiconductor design, among others. The program emphasizes rigorous problem solving and hands-on project work, giving graduates the technical range to work at the intersection of hardware and software. Students typically complete a capstone project that integrates hardware and software components, giving them experience designing a complete system from specification through implementation and testing. Coursework in networks and security is also common, reflecting the connected nature of most modern computing devices and systems. This 4 years program is offered at Istanbul Kültür University in İstanbul, Turkey, and is taught in English.
