Computer Engineering blends the study of computer hardware and software, preparing students to design and build computing systems from the circuit level up through the applications that run on them. Typical coursework covers digital logic design, computer architecture, embedded systems, operating systems, algorithms and data structures, and computer networks, supported by hands-on laboratory work with microcontrollers and programming tools. Students gain a foundation in both the physical components of computing systems and the software that operates on top of them. This bachelor program is offered by Erzurum Technical University, a state institution located in Erzurum, Turkey, and requires 4 years of full-time study, with instruction in English. The program begins with mathematics, physics, and programming fundamentals before moving into specialized courses on architecture, embedded systems, and networking, typically finishing with capstone projects that involve building functioning hardware or software systems. Graduates of computer engineering programs commonly work as software developers, embedded systems engineers, network engineers, and hardware designers across industries such as telecommunications, electronics manufacturing, automotive systems, and information technology. Some move into systems administration or cybersecurity roles, while others pursue further study in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, or computer architecture. Because the degree covers both hardware and software, graduates tend to have flexible career options across nearly any sector that relies on computing systems and infrastructure.
