The Computer Engineering bachelor's program combines the study of computer hardware and software, covering topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, computer architecture, operating systems, and networks. Students build a foundation in mathematics and engineering principles before moving into specialized areas including software development, embedded systems, and digital design. The curriculum typically includes hands-on lab work and project-based coursework that develops practical problem-solving skills alongside theoretical knowledge. Graduates pursue careers as software engineers, systems designers, hardware developers, and researchers, as well as further study at the graduate level in computer science or engineering. The program runs for 4 years and is taught in English, a language widely used in the global technology industry and in computer science literature. It is offered at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, a city with a significant concentration of technology companies, research institutes, and technical universities. Studying computer engineering in Ankara places students within a broader ecosystem of technology-oriented education and industry activity. Over the four years, students typically progress from introductory programming and mathematics courses to advanced topics such as computer architecture, software engineering, and elective areas of specialization within computing. The program is structured to prepare graduates for the fast-changing demands of the technology sector, combining a solid grounding in engineering fundamentals with exposure to current software and hardware development practices used across the industry.
