Bilgisayar Mühendisliği

This bachelor's program in Computer Engineering is offered at Sivas Science and Technology University in Sivas, Turkey, with instruction in English over 4 years. Computer engineering combines principles of computer science and electrical engineering to design and build both the hardware and software that make computing systems work, from processors and circuits to operating systems and applications. Coursework typically covers programming, data structures and algorithms, computer architecture, digital logic design, operating systems, and networks, giving students a foundation across both the physical and logical layers of computing systems. Students learn to write and debug software, design digital circuits, and understand how hardware and software components interact within a complete system. Laboratory work is a significant part of the curriculum, allowing students to build and test circuits, write software projects, and work with embedded systems that combine both hardware and programming skills. The discipline also addresses topics such as computer networks, database systems, and increasingly artificial intelligence and machine learning as they intersect with both hardware and software design. Because the program is taught in English, students build the technical vocabulary needed to engage with international documentation, research, and collaborative software and hardware projects. The four-year curriculum generally builds from core mathematics and programming courses toward specialized computer engineering topics and applied design projects in the later years, often including a capstone project. Graduates typically pursue careers in software development, hardware design, embedded systems, networking, and technology consulting, and many continue into graduate study in computer engineering, computer science, or related technical fields given the wide range of specializations available within computing.
