Bachelor in English studies

At University of Bialystok, applications for the Oct 2027 intake close on Jul 28, 2027.

The University of Bialystok, in Białystok, Poland, offers a bachelor's programme in English Philology, taught in English over 3 years. The general educational aim of the programme is to help students acquire basic knowledge of the target language, literature, and culture and to apply that knowledge in professional and social contexts in an ethical way. Graduates can use English at least at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and can apply it for specific purposes. They also gain interdisciplinary competence that lets them use their language knowledge across different fields of academic and social life, along with the ability to solve professional problems, gather, process, and transfer information in written and oral form, and take part in team work. These qualifications prepare graduates to work in educational, administrative, and cultural institutions such as publishing houses, editorial boards, mass media, the tourist industry, and services -- broadly, in settings where strong knowledge of the target language and culture is required. Graduates can also work as teachers of English in primary and lower secondary schools after completing a specialized pedagogical programme run by the university's Teachers' Educational Centre (CEN). The programme leaves graduates well prepared to continue their studies at MA level. Białystok is a city in northeastern Poland, and the University of Bialystok's English Philology programme provides an English-taught route into the study of language, literature, and culture, combined with the interdisciplinary and professional skills that support careers across education, media, administration, and cultural institutions both within Poland and internationally.
