Entry is document-based rather than exam-based at the universities checked here: the published processes ask for a passport, apostilled school-leaving documents and transcripts, evidence of English, and in some cases an interview. Kazakh National Medical University's English-language Medicine process separately lists NEET for applicants from India — a provider-specific line, not a national rule. India's own requirement still applies regardless of what any Kazakh university asks for: Indian citizens and OCIs need a qualifying NEET-UG result to obtain a primary medical qualification abroad, and Pakistani students need PM&DC's MDCAT threshold and Student Registration Certificate before accepting a foreign seat.

Astana Medical University publishes concrete test thresholds (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and Duolingo are all named in its admission materials), while some programs assess English at interview instead. What to weigh

The genuine advantage here is price transparency at the state universities: Karaganda Medical University and al-Farabi Kazakh National University publish full fee grids, and Astana Medical University keeps a plain 2026-27 price table on its foreign-admissions portal, with a separate column for the English-medium rate. The genuine hazard is the ecosystem around them. Astana Medical University prints a fraud warning on its own price list telling applicants to rely only on information from amu.edu.kz and to pay tuition only into the university's bank account printed there. If the domain you're reading doesn't match the university's own published one, the price you're quoted isn't the university's price.

Whether a Kazakh medical degree is usable back home depends on your own country's regulator, not on the university's marketing. India's NMC, Pakistan's PM&DC and Nigeria's MDCN each run their own post-return chain — covered step by step in the return-home section below — and each treats the specific institution, not the country, as the unit of recognition.

Can I practice in India after studying medicine in Kazakhstan?
